WA
|
| Western Australia: The first European to sight WA was the Dutch sailor Willem de Vlamingh who sailed along the coast in 1697 and named Swan River.
In 1829 Captain James Stirling founded the Swan River Colony. Unlike many other Australian states, Western Australia was colonised as a free settlement. WA is the biggest state of Australia, it's capital city is Perth. |
